What the agent can touch
Agent identity
Every agent runs as a bot member of your Moxn workspace. When you create an agent you choose one of two options:- A new dedicated identity (default). Moxn creates a bot member for the agent and grants it edit access to the knowledge base you chose.
- An existing bot identity. The agent reuses that bot with the permissions it already has. Use this when several agents should share one set of access.
Moxn identity credential
The agent page’s Access section shows the managed credential the agent uses to reach Moxn. Moxn creates and stores it for you. Replace it only if it is lost or compromised. Replacing it revokes the old credential and keeps the identity’s permissions as they are.Connecting tools
Tool access is set up in two places: the account connection, then the agent’s binding.- Connect the account. Under Settings > Connections > Tools, connect a GitHub, Linear, or Notion account.
- Bind it to the agent. On the agent page, open Tools (under the agent’s Access tab) and bind the account.
- Choose resources. Select exactly which repositories, teams, or pages the agent may use.
- Choose write operations. Allow only the writes the agent needs.
GitHub and native Git
A GitHub binding can also grant native Git access for work inside the agent’s sandbox:Tool writes to review review
Sometimes a write to an external tool ends with an unknown outcome, for example when the network fails mid-request. Moxn lists those writes under Connector writes on the agent page so you can check the result in the tool itself. Refreshing the list only re-checks status. It never repeats a write. Each agent’s grants are its own. Two agents that share a GitHub account connection can still have different repositories and write operations bound. Subagents use their parent’s identity and grants, so they cannot exceed them.
